Every year on the first weekend in May, pottery and ceramics studios in Maine open their doors to the public. It's a fun day and a chance meet the artists, peek in the kilns, see demonstrations, and shop for pottery and other handmade goods. 2024 will be Maine Pottery Tour’s twelfth year, and they will have dozens of participating studios. If you'd like to take the Pottery Tour, click here to download maps, and links to interactive online maps and plan your pottery road trip.

We are very excited to participate in the tour this year by opening our new home studio in Gray, Maine. We’ll be opening Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm | During the Maine Pottery Tour, we’ll be giving a tour of our new home studio, selling our work and slinging some handmade pizzas in our wood fired pizza oven to share with those attending.

Pizzas will be slinging from 11am-1pm both Saturday and Sunday! Enjoy while supplies last!

Seconds & Samples will be available in addition to our first quality work!

Sourcing your flowers is just the start of the fun! Pick from your own personal garden, forage from a wild field, or shop at the farmer’s market. Get creative and have fun with this! Our personal gardens are bursting at the seams and we will be bringing blossoms to share as well. Join Kristen & Joe Camp at Wolf Cove Inn on Tripp Pond in Poland, Maine and celebrate spring by taking part in a Raku Workshop, which will include a wood fired pizza dinner by Joe Camp. Following the workshop & dinner, enjoy a relaxing stay in one of Wolf Cove’s beautiful rooms and take advantage of their Sauna and Cold Plunge.

At the workshop each participant will choose a bisque fired vase along with a smaller dish or pot to decorate and glaze, using various glazing and surface decoration techniques, which we will teach you. There will be several opportunities to learn about and participate in the various parts of the Raku process throughout the evening.

Once the Raku kiln has been loaded and starts firing we will enjoy some of Joe's delicious handmade pizza made with fresh seasonal ingredients along with salad and dessert! (See the menu below.)

When the kiln is done firing, we will pull all of the pieces and place them in cans filled with combustibles, and cover them with lids. This is where the magic happens! The combination of smoke, fire, and lack of oxygen creates the beautiful crackle and metallic patterns that we all love! Once the pieces have cooled we will show you how to clean them up, and you will leave the workshop with full bellies, content hearts, and a beautiful new Raku piece!
